We are looking for a Product Director to lead our Convert Delivery. You’ll own Sokin’s FX product end-to-end and unlock our biggest commercial opportunity: grow FX flow as a % of total payment volume. You need deep FX domain knowledge, challenge assumptions, adapt to our context, and build something better. You’ll partner with Treasury to own pricing/spreads and deliver market-leading G10 rates, and ship intelligence, forwards and hedging (including an agentic advisory layer) that helps Finance Directors decide when to act.
About Us
Sokin is a next-generation B2B financial services provider, enabling businesses to make and receive global payments with greater speed, lower cost, and total transparency. Our mission is simple: we’re simplifying global business - so businesses thrive wherever they choose to grow. We deliver services across:
- Global payments and receivables
- Foreign Exchange (FX)
- Treasury management
- Finance reconciliations
We are rapidly expanding, with established presence in EMEA, APAC, and North America, backed by a strong global infrastructure and industry-leading partners, we are redefining how businesses move money worldwide. Our clients span industries from sports and entertainment to logistics and travel, and our community is growing rapidly. As we continue to expand, we’re building a team of exceptional people who share our ambition to transform the future of global payments.
What You’ll Do
- Commercial Ownership & Growth
- Own the number: increase FX flow as a % of total payment volume (our biggest commercial unlock)
- Define the KPI system (conversion, spread/take rate, adoption, retention) and run the cadence that forces focus and learning
- Position Convert to win, clearly and credibly, against key players, tier-1 banks, and specialists
- Pod Leadership & Delivery
- Lead two pods (Spot FX & Rate Engine; FX Intelligence & Hedging) with end-to-end accountability for roadmap, delivery, and commercial outcomes
- Turn strategy into bets: a sequenced roadmap that makes trade-offs explicit and ships value fast
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Engineering, Sales, and Treasury to unblock delivery and land releases that move the metrics
- Rate Competitiveness, Pricing & Treasury Partnership
- Own pricing and spreads end-to-end from model to live performance then iterate ruthlessly
- Partner with Treasury and liquidity providers to get within 10bps of best-in-market G10 rates while protecting unit economics
- Build rate intelligence (benchmarks, monitoring, experiments) so we know what’s true and can act before customers feel it
- FX Intelligence, Hedging & New Products
- Build FX intelligence: exposure visibility, alerts, and “when to act” recommendations that reduce uncertainty for Finance teams
- Ship an agentic advisory layer that turns insight into action, not dashboards that get ignored
- Take forwards and hedging from pilot to a scaled, commercially repeatable product
- Team Building & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Hire and grow outstanding PMs, raise the bar on judgment, craft, and pace
- Create tight alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Treasury without consensus theatre
- Set the operating rhythm: metrics reviews, roadmap reviews, post-launch learning so we compound improvements week over week
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
- Track record translating complex FX concepts into products Finance Directors and treasury teams actually use
- Strong cross-functional leadership (Product, Engineering, Design) and ability to manage senior stakeholders
- Proven senior product experience in FX, treasury, or financial markets (fintech or financial institution)
- Deep understanding of FX execution: rate engines, spread management, liquidity relationships, and wholesale pricing mechanics
- Experience building (or working closely with) hedging/structured FX products, forwards, options, or equivalent
- Commercially fluent in FX margin models: understands the economics of winning and retaining FX flow (including tier-1 bank relationships)
- Comfortable in a scaling business where the product org is still being built, hands-on when needed, strategic when it matters
Mindset we care about:
- Adaptable, not dogmatic. You've done this before, but you don't assume your old playbook is the right one here. You ask 'why?' before applying solutions.
- Ruthlessly prioritising. You can say no clearly and help others understand why.
- Outcome-focused. You care about speed to market and quality, not process for process's sake.
- Collaborative but opinionated. You partner closely with Treasury, Sales, and Engineering but you’re comfortable pushing back when the data (or the customer) says otherwise.
Nice-to-haves:
- Familiarity with agentic and/or data-driven advisory products (recommendations, alerts, next-best-action), not just execution
- Understanding of stablecoin rails and on/off-ramps in a regulated payments context
- Experience scaling an FX, treasury, or payments product from pilot to repeatable commercial growth
Please note, candidates will need to have the right to work in the jurisdiction that they are looking to work in. Sokin is an equal opportunities employer and committed to maintaining an inclusive work environment. As a growing global startup with bases across multiple countries, we were established on and continue to promote an agile, flexible working culture. Please reach out to discuss any accommodations you may require during the recruitment process.
