We are conducting a confidential search for an exceptional Executive Headteacher on behalf of a respected specialist education provider delivering high-quality education for children and young people between 18-25 with SEND needs.
The Opportunity
As Executive Headteacher, you will provide strategic leadership across various education provisions, ensuring a consistent vision, high standards and a culture of continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include
- Developing and delivering an ambitious vision for education across Colleges.
- Contributing to organisational strategy as a key member of the Executive Education Leadership Team.
- Creating seamless learner pathways between specialist schools, colleges and post-16 provision.
- Driving excellence in teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment and learner outcomes.
- Leading quality assurance, self-evaluation and improvement planning across multiple education settings.
- Embedding a culture of continuous improvement and maintaining ongoing readiness for Ofsted inspections.
- Using performance data to improve achievement, attendance, engagement, retention and progression.
- Providing strategic leadership, coaching and support to Headteachers, College Principals and senior leaders.
- Developing leadership capability, succession planning and talent across the education group.
- Working collaboratively with education, care, therapy, safeguarding and operational colleagues to deliver integrated support for learners.
- Building strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, regulators and external partners while representing the organisation across the wider education sector.
About You
You are an accomplished senior educational leader with experience leading complex, multi-site education services.
Whether your background is within specialist education, SEND, maintained or independent settings, or a group education environment, you have successfully improved educational quality, developed high-performing leaders and driven sustainable organisational improvement.
You will bring
- Significant senior leadership experience across specialist education, schools, colleges or multi-site education provision.
- A proven track record of improving educational standards and learner outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and quality assurance processes.
- Experience leading successful quality improvement programmes and supporting services through inspection.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with operational credibility.
- Outstanding leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience leading senior leaders within complex organisations.
- A passion for inclusive education and improving life opportunities for children and young people with additional needs.
Qualifications
- PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- SENCO qualification (not essential)
- NPQH or equivalent senior leadership qualification.
