We are seeking an experienced and inspiring leader to take on the role of Headteacher within a specialist education environment. This position involves providing both strategic direction and day-to-day leadership to ensure high standards of education, safeguarding, and wellbeing for pupils with additional and complex needs.
The provision supports pupils with a range of learning differences and needs, including neurodiverse profiles. The approach is highly individualised, with a strong emphasis on supporting academic progress alongside social and emotional development. Key areas of support include personalised learning strategies, development of social communication skills, and helping pupils build independence, focus, and self-regulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, external professionals, and the wider community to support positive outcomes for pupils.
- Lead the creation and delivery of a clear school improvement strategy, with defined priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee effective use of resources, including staffing, finances, and facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Take accountability for financial planning and budget management, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
- Ensure all statutory requirements for supporting pupils with additional needs are met to a high standard.
- Promote high-quality teaching and learning across the provision, using evidence-based approaches tailored to individual needs.

Requirements
- Strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a specialist or complex educational setting.
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS or equivalent).
- Good understanding of inspection frameworks, safeguarding responsibilities, and regulatory expectations.
