The Role:
The Senior Sales Director role drives business to business sales and is responsible for developing, growing, and managing a digital advertising book business across UK Media Agencies. The Snr Sales Director will define and work closely with the International Corporate and Destinations Commercial Director. Managing a book of business across Sojern's existing strategic client base while also developing and acquiring new strategic travel clients across the region. Clients will include but not exclusively Hotels, Airlines, DMO's, Attractions and Travel Brand campaigns.
Role Expectations:
Sojern is seeking an experienced Snr online advertising sales director with demonstrated success developing, managing, and growing a book of business across the Media Agencies & Travel Direct clients. The Snr Sales Director will primarily manage Sojern's development and monetization across our multi-channel advertising platform, utilizing unique data from our multitude of travel partners. The candidate will have a track record of selling across multiple ad products (Video, Display, Mobile, Paid Social, CTV, Search, etc.) for a range of campaign objectives and ability to build strategic partnerships with media agencies as well as lead pan-european strategic relationships with leading travel brands. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, creative thinker with the ability to work cross-functionally to develop scalable advertising solutions for their clients and assist in bringing these solutions to market. They must have exceptional presentation skills and a strong understanding of digital advertising and preferably the ad-tech marketplace. Prior experience in key travel advertiser categories will be an asset.
The Team:
The INTL corporate and destinations team is made up of 15 people covering a range of commercial responsibilities for the EMEA and APAC region. The team possess core skills across ad tech, travel and multi-channel digital advertising.
Responsibilities:
- Lead in developing, acquiring and growing an advertising book of business predominantly made up of Hotels, Airlines, DMO's, Attractions and Travel Brands
- Lead relationships working within the big six UK hold co companies
- Managing a complex sales pipeline from start to finish
- Meet and exceed growing sales targets on a quarterly basis
- Handle a book of business in excess of $2 million on an annual basis
- Independently able to maintain and grow a multi million dollar book of business and have deep sales strategy conversations with any of Sojern's clients
- Demonstrate thought leadership and influence Go-To-Market in the UK
- Propose, negotiate and close agency trading deals on behalf of Sojern
- Independently create and deliver persuasive presentations that educate the market and demonstrate Sojern's value proposition
- Effectively collaborate cross-functionally with vertical sales, account management and product teams to develop relevant advertising programs for key clients, targets and their agencies
- Cross sell and aid in cross selling Sojern solutions
- Maintain Salesforce and keep client activity organized
- Some Travel Required
What you bring to the table:
- +15 years overall sales experience in travel and or digital advertising
- Senior contacts within the big six hold co companies
- Experience in working with tier one travel brands across the UK
- Experience selling self serve (SAAS/DAAS) and managed IO advertising solutions
- Proficiency in standard business and sales software, including Salesforce, Gsuite, and Office products
- Ability to build sales plans and respond to large RFP's
- A foundational understanding of the programmatic ecosystem
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
