Soilworx is an Irish-owned business producing natural fertiliser in our new state-of-the-art facility in Newry. Are you interested in joining a new, innovative and fast paced working environment? We are currently recruiting Process Operators to join our team in Mayobridge, Newry.
Soilworx is part of College Group, privately held company founded in 1989 with HQ in Nobber in County Meath. We are the largest processor and exporter of animal by-products in Ireland. Diversification and investment strategy has resulted in large scale developments in the production of biofuels and the manufacture of organic fertilisers. Continuous development has led to expansion into renewable energy with solar installation and planned renewable gas production.
The Process Operators are an integral part of our day-to-day operation, being responsible for the production and quality checking of all orders in the mill. This role will involve shift work – candidates must be available to work on a rotating shift which will involve day & night work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a computerised manufacturing process,
- Monitoring raw material intake,
- Warehouse duties including operating a forklift truck,
- Working with bulk bag and small bag lines,
- Working with a bulk outloading system,
- Loading lorries,
- Performing product quality checks and maintaining mill hygiene standards,
- Comply with all Quality Environmental Health and Safety requirements / training and regulations.
Skills required:
- Must have a good standard of education, with GCSEs or equivalent,
- Must be IT literate and ideally have previous experience using computerised production equipment,
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of people,
- Positive attitude – reliable and strong work ethic,
- Experience working in an animal feed mill or an agricultural background would be an advantage,
- A mechanical background would be advantageous,
- Knowledge of working processes on bucket elevators & chain conveyors would be beneficial,
- Ideally have forklift & backhoe licences but not essential as training will be provided.
Excellent rates of pay & shift allowances.
