Soiltechnics is an established, UK geoenvironmental, geotechnical and fabric surveying consultancy. We work on a wide variety of projects across the country, helping clients understand the ground beneath their sites and deliver safe, sustainable developments.
About the Role
We are looking for a positive, approachable and organised Administration and Resourcing Manager to lead our new, small team and provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support across the business.
You will be responsible for the resourcing of operations across the business, together with organising and prioritising the team’s workload, supporting their development and making sure that people, equipment, suppliers and project information are coordinated effectively. Your work will help our technical and operational teams to deliver projects efficiently.
This is a varied, office-based role covering resourcing, job setup, purchasing and purchase orders, supplier records, reception and telephone enquiries, data entry, credit control support, social media and content creation. You will be involved in delivering these activities as well as managing the team and developing effective processes.
Priorities can change quickly, so the role requires good communication with colleagues across the business, the ability to plan ahead and delegate, and a flexible approach to supporting different teams as needed.
About you

- A confident and supportive manager, able to provide clear direction and delegate effectively.
- Organised and proactive, ability to plan ahead, manage competing priorities and provide reactive support to site teams.
- Reliable and attentive to detail, with a practical approach to improving processes and ways of working.
- A clear and professional communicator, confident engaging with colleagues, clients, visitors and suppliers in person, on the telephone and in writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the administration and resourcing team, providing clear direction, allocating work and helping team members develop.
- Oversee the allocation and coordination of people, equipment, subcontractors and other resources across projects, working closely with colleagues to identify and resolve resourcing issues.
- Ensure new jobs are set up promptly and project information is entered accurately into company systems.
- Oversee the Approved Supplier List (ASL), supplier records and other operational databases, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Manage purchasing administration, including purchase orders, approved orders and liaison with suppliers regarding availability, delivery and documentation.
- Coordinate general administrative support across the business, including data entry, document preparation, filing and record keeping.
- Ensure incoming calls, reception, visitors and general enquiries are handled promptly and professionally, directing technical or commercial matters to the appropriate person.
- Oversee the preparation and scheduling of social media content and routine website updates, keeping company news, information and vacancies current.
- Review and improve administrative and resourcing processes, identifying opportunities to make work more efficient and support the wider business.
- Provide practical support with the team’s activities when needed and undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in an administration, resourcing or coordination role, with the ability to manage a varied workload and support a team.
- Good office and IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Familiarity with Synergist would be helpful but not required as full training will be provided.
- Ability to plan ahead, prioritise work, meet deadlines and remain organised during busy periods.
- Discretion when handling financial, employee, client and commercially sensitive information.
- Experience in purchasing, accounts support, social media or design would be useful but is not essential.
