We are currently recruiting for a fieldwork site operative based out of our Northamptonshire office. If you are looking for a new challenge or your first job, this role offers the opportunity to build a career and learn new skills. Our fieldwork site operative role suits someone who enjoys physical work, working onsite away from an office and wants to learn new skills. The role may lead to learning how to operate equipment such as diamond coring and specialist hand tools.

The role involves visiting sites nationwide to undertake various investigations such as, but not limited to:

  • Excavation of trial pits by hand
  • Operating hand tools including breakers
  • Operating specialist non‑destructive investigation techniques
  • Assist in moving equipment and plant
  • Undertake soil sampling as directed by the site engineer
  • Diamond coring
  • Any other duties related to the investigation process as required.

Training will be provided by the company to cover safe working and operation of equipment, as well as for a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card. Training costs with respect to these and other approved training schemes are met by the company. The role is predominantly site based and you will be required to travel to sites across the country as necessary. Travel to site is either in company vehicles or by rail, with travel costs (including overnight stays) paid for by the company.

  • Salary
  • Site bonus for each day worked on‑site, which can add a significant (20-40%) sum to monthly salary
  • 25 days of holiday per year plus bank holidays

Requirements

  • A driving license
  • Your own transport to get to our office, which is not served by public transport
  • Expect to sit the necessary courses, medical, drug and alcohol screening tests as required
