Through our certified programme and our platform, Soil Capital leads the food and ag sector transformation by engaging with blue chip organisations who seek to deliver on their environmental commitments and build supply chain resilience.
This role requires strong commercial acumen, relationship-building skills, and a solid understanding of UK agriculture.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, prospect and sign new commercial partnerships with UK agricultural merchants, traders and cooperatives, and UK and international CPG corporates with UK supply chains.
- Own the full sales cycle: lead generation, pitching, negotiation and closing.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline aligned with revenue targets.
- Represent Soil Capital at industry events, trade shows and partner meetings.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of UK accounts post-signature (Cefetra, Boortmalt, Oxbury...).
- Launch and run programmes on the ground, working closely with partners and internal teams.
- Act as the main point of contact for UK partners, ensuring high satisfaction and long-term engagement.
- Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
- Maintain a strong field presence, including regular visits to partners and farms.
- Bring insights from the ground to inform product, commercial and go-to-market strategy.
- Contribute to the development of the UK market strategy alongside Nathalie, our CRO.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in sales, business development or commercial roles in agri-food, agriculture, commodities, sustainability, or related sectors.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of closing B2B deals.
- Solid account management capabilities and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to operate autonomously while collaborating closely with a broader team.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong ownership mentality.
- Comfortable in a hybrid role blending office, field and client meetings.
- Pragmatic, hands-on and results-driven.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders.
- Good understanding of UK agriculture, including farming systems and supply chains.
- Ability to engage credibly with agricultural stakeholders on the ground.
