At Soho House, the Laundry Assistant plays a vital role in the housekeeping team, ensuring all linen, towels, uniforms, and guest items are cleaned, pressed, and presented to the highest standards. Working within the laundry department, you will be responsible for operating laundry equipment, sorting and processing items, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The Laundry Assistant will support the wider housekeeping and operations team by maintaining efficiency, cleanliness, and organization within the laundry area.
Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, press, and fold linen, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Operate laundry machinery (washers, dryers, irons, presses) safely and efficiently.
- Inspect items for stains or damage and treat or report them appropriately.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
- Follow correct procedures for handling guest laundry and dry‑cleaning requests.
- Ensure stock of clean linen and uniforms is well maintained and distributed as required.
- Monitor the condition of linen, towels, and uniforms, reporting any items needing replacement.
- Adhere to health, safety and hygiene standards, including safe use of cleaning chemicals.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock control of laundry supplies.
Qualifications
- Up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high‑profile venue, preferably laundry, housekeeping or similar environment.
- Knowledge of laundry operations and fabric care preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, reliable, and guest‑focused approach.
- Ability to handle feedback to achieve member satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
