At Soho House, a Runner plays a vital supporting role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of service between the kitchen and front-of-house teams. The Runner delivers food and beverages promptly, maintains cleanliness and organisation across service areas, and acts as a key link in the dining experience between the kitchen/bar and the floor.
Responsibilities
- Bring food and drinks quickly from the kitchen/bar to the respective locations in the restaurant and deliver to members.
- Maintain a spotless, pristine work environment.
- Provide service to and be accountable for an assigned section.
- Develop relationships with members to provide personalized service.
- Polish cutlery to ensure they are ready for service.
- Prepare additions to tables in advance (e.g., lemon wraps, condiments, butter portions).
- Perform opening and closing procedures including setup and breakdown of stations.
- Handle and store all service equipment carefully.
- Attend regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn menu changes and daily tastings.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years in a similar high-end dining environment.
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a hands-on approach.
- Confident, polished, and professional demeanour.
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software.
