The Role…

At Soho House, a Breakfast Chef is the first point of contact in the kitchen each morning. The Breakfast Chef takes ownership of early‑day operations and ensures the delivery of high‑quality, beautifully presented, and nutritious breakfast dishes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of all breakfast dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and timing.
  • Completion of mise en place before service.
  • Maintaining a professional attitude and ensuring health and safety regulations are met.
  • Attending regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn about menu or service changes.
  • Supporting junior team members (e.g., Prep Chefs) through guidance and collaboration.
  • Assisting in preparation of team meals as requested, considering dietary needs and variety.
  • Taking full responsibility for the breakfast section, ensuring smooth and timely service and clean‑down post‑service.
  • Wrapping unused items and storing them in the proper area at the end of service.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar capacity in a busy, high‑profile venue.
  • Passion for food, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and respectful attitude in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 1 or 2) is a plus but not essential.
  • Ability to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, and work autonomously.
