The Role
At Soho House, the Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by cleaning and maintaining kitchenware including pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and glassware. Your main responsibility is supporting hygiene and safety standards, managing waste disposal, and maintaining overall cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.

Key duties
- Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs
- Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas
- Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift
- Adhere to all Food Safety and Health Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including HACCP)
- Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting where required during peak service times
- Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity
- Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials where required.
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
What we are looking for
A successful Kitchen Porter for Soho House will ideally have up to 2 years' experience in a busy high-profile venue and a natural flair for first class service. You'll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success. Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred. Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude. Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. Ability to handle feedback to achieve member satisfaction. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
