Your main responsibility is to bring creativity, precision, and a strong technical background to the role, ensuring that every item meets our high standards of taste, texture, and appearance. Lead the pastry kitchen team in delivering an elegant, seasonal, and innovative dessert and pastry offering for members and guests across all outlets. Work in partnership with the Executive and Head Chef to plan and execute new pastry items, menus, and concepts that align with the club’s identity. Maintain accurate ordering and supplier management for all pastry-related products to ensure consistent quality and cost-efficiency. Assist in the training and mentoring of Commis Chefs and Demi Chefs de Partie, helping to develop their technical skills and kitchen knowledge. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards including HACCP protocols and company policies. Attend regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn about any menu or service changes and specials alongside daily tastings. Assist in preparation of team meals as requested, considering dietary needs and variety. Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning, improvement, and teamwork. Support with the deep cleaning of the entire kitchen before close. Contribute to the planning and execution of special events, afternoon teas, banquets, and seasonal or themed offerings.
What we are looking for...
- A successful Senior Pastry Chef for Soho House will ideally have up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue and a natural flair for first class service. You’ll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity
- Passion for food, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive, proactive, and respectful attitude in a busy kitchen environment.
- Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 1 or 2) is a plus but not essential.
- Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously
