Reception Manager - 40 Greek Street, Central London

Set within a Grade II-listed townhouse, the original Soho House at 40 Greek Street is where our story began in 1995. Almost three decades on, the club remains a round-the-clock member destination in the heart of Soho. 40 Greek Street retains many of its original features and includes outdoor spaces on the first and third floor, in addition to a rooftop terrace. There are three dining spaces, serving an all-day club menu from the house kitchen.

The Role

At Soho House the Reception Manager is responsible for welcoming, directing or signing in all members and guests to the property. As a Reception Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of club reception and all related departments, such as hosts, member relations and cloakroom whilst also supporting the management team as needed.

Main Duties

  • Ensure every member is welcomed by name (if local) and guest is welcomed with open arms and in a hospitable manner.
  • Answer high-volume phone lines and calls for restaurant, roof and cinema reservations, general inquiries, and deliveries, messages for members and from employees; among other inquiries.
  • Well-versed on standard Q&A regarding menus, hours of operation and amenity availability/pricing.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment, reception area, desk and coat check closet.
  • Perform Guest List duties on the floor level, club and/or Rooftop (if applicable).
  • Support, redirect and problem solve in real-time to ensure any guest related concerns are addressed and action items have been set.
  • Assist guests by checking/ retrieving their coats and/or items they left.
  • Build relationships with members and guests and communicate and red flags and positive feedback to management.
  • Influence a fun and positive atmosphere by being approachable and professional.
  • Assist management with new hires by training Soho Standards and steps of service expected daily.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the running of the house.

What we are looking for

  • Up to 3-5 years\' experience running a busy reception or similar environment in a management capacity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships (internal and external)
  • Strong attention to details
  • Excellent customer service
  • Fluent in English
  • Organised and reliable
  • Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team
  • Computer literacy within Opera, Micros and Adaco advantageous
