The People Manager will work closely with the People Director, People Coordinator, Recruitment Manager, Support Office leaders and Soho Home Studios to deliver a high-impact, commercially focused people agenda. Operating in a fluid, fast-moving environment, this role requires confidence in complex employee relations, strong analytical capability, and the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels. You will input to the overall people plan and strategy to ensure we are striving to serve our support functions and Soho Home business in the best way to protect our culture. Our people team need to be in the heart of conversations and decisions therefore there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will naturally be able to harness relationships with employees up to Senior Management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as a trusted business partner to managers and senior leaders, coaching them on effective management capabilities, decision-making, and best-practice people management.
  • Provide confident, pragmatic advice across all People topics, balancing legal risk, employee experience, and commercial context.
  • Translate the People strategy into clear plans, priorities, and everyday actions, ensuring consistent execution across the Support Office.
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases with confidence and sound judgement, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely outcomes.
  • Review and evolve employee relations processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and manager capability while maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Play a visible role in building trust, credibility, and strong working relationships across all employee groups.
  • Own the delivery of the employee engagement survey for the Support Office, including planning, execution, analysis, and action‐planning with leaders.
  • Partner closely with Internal Communications and leaders to ensure people‐related messaging is clear, inclusive, and resonates with different employee audiences.
  • Monitor engagement trends and qualitative feedback, using insight to shape interventions and improve employee experience.
  • Ensure people data is accurate, well‐maintained, and compliant with GDPR and legal requirements.
  • Use data and people analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, proactively supporting leaders with evidence‐based insights.
  • Continuously review core People processes and ways of working, recommending improvements to drive efficiency and service quality.
  • Identify skills gaps and workforce needs, partnering with Recruitment and L&D to develop effective hiring, development, or reskilling solutions.
  • Support talent acquisition strategies that attract, hire, and retain diverse, high‐quality talent aligned to business needs.
  • Coach leaders through annual people processes including performance reviews, engagement surveys, benefits reviews, and budgeting cycles.
  • Own the delivery of the employee engagement survey for the Support Office and Soho Home Studios, including planning, execution, analysis, and action‐planning with leaders.
  • Work closely with Systems, Recruitment, Digital, L&D, and Finance teams to deliver integrated and scalable people solutions.
  • Oversee HRIS management and payroll coordination on a weekly basis for Support Office and Soho Home business.
  • Manage and support the People Coordinator to exceed in their role.

Experience Required

  • A minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a fast paced and professional environment.
  • Proven success of "champion of the culture," facilitating excellent communication and employee engagement across a global and diverse organisation.
  • Team focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute.
  • Able to effectively manage different stakeholders and be persuasive.
  • Breadth of experience across the entire HR function.
  • Able to switch from a strategic planner to ensuring all basics of the department are covered (i.e. induction, starters, leavers, etc).
