At Soho House, a Head Waiter plays an essential role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our members and guests. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and Front of House team, you will oversee service operations on the floor, ensure staff are well-guided and professional, and maintain the high standards that reflect the identity of the club. Your main responsibility is to ensure that members have an enjoyable experience. You will deliver excellent service from initial greeting, taking orders, making recommendations and paying of the bill.

Warmly greet members, introduce menus, and ensure immediate engagement upon seating. Take accurate food and drink orders, accommodating any allergies or dietary needs. Deliver a seamless service by coordinating with kitchen and bar staff, ensuring timely and correct order delivery. Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including food and drink pairings. Maintain exceptional table service—top up water, wine, and beverages proactively throughout the member’s stay. Ensure a pristine environment, including setting up and resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness at all times. Handle member requests and special accommodations with flexibility to create memorable, personalized experiences. Support seamless payment through card, the Soho House App, or House Pay. Uphold discretion and professionalism, especially when serving VIPs and PWKs. Lead and supervise the daily service on the restaurant floor, ensuring seamless and elevated guest experiences. Support and motivate the waitstaff team, offering training, coaching, and consistent feedback.

What we are looking for...

  • 2–3 years in a similar high-end dining environment, with experience in a supervisory or senior waiter position
  • Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on approach
  • Confident, polished, and professional demeanour
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills
  • Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software
