Brighton Beach House is a seafront club with Art Deco interiors, a rooftop terrace and a banana shaped pool. The club menu focuses on seafood with Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The club offers fitness facilities and amenities for members and teams.
A Head Chef at Soho House is a culinary expert who oversees the operations and staff of one of our houses or public restaurants. Main responsibilities include creating and maintaining the kitchen’s budget, assigning tasks to other chefs in your brigade and ensuring member satisfaction by delivering high-quality dishes.
Main Duties- Work alongside the General Manager to improve the food offering in the house or restaurant, ensuring appeal to members and guests.
- Oversee entire kitchen operation (Pastry, Production, Pizza, Pasta and Specialty Cooks) team including recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll and disciplinary procedures; conduct appraisals and collaborate with leadership on staff development while maintaining professional relationships.
- Ensure health and safety policy is followed and enforce compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Delegate tasks to the team and complete daily checklists to support business levels, production, orders, special requests, events, dietary restrictions and allergy procedures.
- Educate and train staff on safe work habits and procedures for dangerous or unsafe situations.
- Create, implement and enforce processes to run an efficient kitchen while upholding high standards of food quality, cost of goods sold (COGS) and margins to increase profits without compromising taste or member/guest experience.
- Ensure teamwork and synergy between front and back of house through effective communication and task delegation for smooth service.
- Collaborate with Marketing/Events on menu creation, food costs, quality service and delivery of products.
- Work with other chefs to produce team meals for the wider team with high quality, variety and dietary accommodation.
- Share responsibility for proper storing procedures, food orders, food cost, equipment, sanitation and hygiene to Company and local standards.
- Up to 3-5 years’ experience in a busy kitchen within a senior management capacity.
- Innovator and influencer with previous experience managing F&B operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships (internal and external).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service.
- Fluent in English.
- Organised and reliable.
