Soho House Manchester is located in the St John’s area in the heart of the city. The house spans across 5 floors of the former Granada Studios and includes an extensive gym, steam room and sauna, outdoor rooftop pool, sunbeds, bars, live music space, casual lounges, a members’ restaurant and 23 bedrooms on the 6th floor.

The Role

At Soho House a Gym Manager is dedicated to health and wellness as well as overall fitness. The Gym Manager oversees day-to-day management of Soho House fitness centres, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the gym, equipment functionality, hygienic locker rooms and sauna, scheduling classes and personal training sessions, and supervising gym staff.

Main Duties

  • Provide high quality fitness training, advice, programs and inductions to members and staff; oversee staffing levels and member events
  • Oversee team management including recruitment, on-boarding, training, payroll and disciplinary procedures; conduct appraisals and develop staff with leadership
  • Monitor and analyse service delivery to improve quality, attendance and profitability
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Events to promote facility services and amenities
  • Vendor management, procurement and safety compliance for gym equipment; oversee repair, cleaning and maintenance

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar fitness role
  • Personal training certification (Minimum Level 3)
  • First aid certification and knowledge
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects by hand
  • Able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required

Expected Working Hours

  • Varying shift times across seven days, including evenings and weekends (opens & closes)
