Key duties:
- Supervise the pool area, maintaining constant vigilance to prevent accidents and respond swiftly to emergencies.
- Enforce pool rules and etiquette to ensure the safety and comfort of all users.
- Perform regular safety checks and maintain equipment such as rescue tubes, pool cleaning gear, and first aid supplies.
- Administer First Aid, CPR, or emergency response as required.
- Monitor water quality and report any irregularities to management or maintenance.
- Ensure all wet areas, including pool deck, showers, and locker rooms, are clean, organised, and well-maintained.
- Provide courteous, professional service to members and guests always.
- Report maintenance issues, incidents, or unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
- Support wellness or swim programming where appropriate (e.g., lane allocation, assisting instructors).
What we are looking for:
- A successful Lifeguard for Soho House will ideally have up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue and a natural flair for first class service.
- You’ll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.
- Valid and up-to-date Lifeguard Certification (e.g., RLSS, NPLQ, or equivalent)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Previous experience in a leisure club, spa, hotel, or fitness facility is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a calm, confident presence under pressure
- Professional appearance, punctuality, and a customer-focused attitude
