Babington House is situated in a Grade II-listed manor built in 1705, surrounded by 18 acres of English countryside in the heart of Somerset. Just 30 minutes from Bath, it's the ultimate countryside escape for rest, relaxation and seasonal dining. With 33 bedrooms spread across Babington's historic buildings, Cabins and Lodges, the club features a formal dining space in the Orangery, serving a unique menu centred around seasonal and local produce. There's also a cricket pitch and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a gym and original Cowshed Spa.
The Role...
We are seeking an experienced Commis Chef to join our team at Babington House (BA11 3RW). Your main responsibility is to ensure that the food we deliver to our members is of the highest quality. This includes preparing food before service, setting up and stocking kitchen stations and plating to company standards.

- 1-2 years' experience in a busy high-profile kitchen in a similar senior role
- Team player who communicates well with all colleagues
- Punctual, reliable and trustworthy

- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Have a genuine passion for food and beverage
- Flexible and available to work both opening and closing shifts when required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects by hand
- Able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
Expected working hours for a Commis Chef:
- Varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, opens & closes
- Average hours 32-45 hours per week
Travel: Approx. 30 minutes from Bath, 50 minutes from Bristol & 10 mins from Frome (No local transport from Frome)
