The Role

At Soho House, a Baker will support the delivery of exceptional breakfast, brunch, and afternoon tea offerings, as well as baked items for events and restaurant service. Your main responsibility will be producing high-quality bread, pastries, and baked goods that reflect the club’s premium culinary standards.

Key duties

  • Prepare a variety of baked goods including sourdough, focaccia, baguettes, viennoiserie, cakes, and pastries.
  • Follow daily prep lists and production schedules to meet the needs of the club’s dining, events, and retail areas.
  • Work in coordination with the Head Pastry Chef to create, test, and refine recipes that align with the club’s seasonal menus.
  • Monitor and maintain the consistency, taste, and presentation of all baked products.
  • Attend regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn about any menu or service changes and specials alongside daily tastings.
  • Assist in preparation of team meals as requested, considering dietary needs and variety.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning, improvement, and teamwork.
  • Support with the deep cleaning of the entire kitchen before close.
  • Wrap unused items and store them in proper area at the end of service.

What We Are Looking For

A successful Baker for Soho House will ideally have up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high‑profile venue and a natural flair for first‑class service. You’ll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.

  • Passion for food, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • 2‑3 years of professional baking or pastry experience, preferably in a high‑end kitchen, bakery, or hospitality setting.
  • Strong understanding of artisanal bread making, fermentation, proofing, and shaping techniques.
  • Positive, proactive, and respectful attitude in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 1 or 2) is a plus but not essential.
  • Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously.

Pay Range: £17—£17 GBP.
