Job Purpose
SOFTWAVE TECH SOLUTIONS LTD is seeking a Product Development Manager to lead the planning, development, enhancement and delivery of technology products and solutions, with a particular focus on financial technology (Fin Tech).
The role will be responsible for translating business and customer requirements into effective digital products, coordinating product development activities, and ensuring that solutions are delivered to a high technical and commercial standard.
The Product Development Manager will work closely with software developers, technical specialists, business stakeholders, clients and other relevant teams to manage the product lifecycle from initial concept and requirements gathering through development, testing, launch and continuous improvement.
- Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for Fin Tech and technology-based products and services.
- Identify product opportunities based on client requirements, market developments, emerging technologies and business objectives.
- Gather, analyse and document functional and technical product requirements.
- Develop product specifications, roadmaps, development priorities and delivery plans.
- Work closely with software developers, engineers, designers and technical consultants to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
- Coordinate product development projects and monitor progress against agreed milestones, budgets and deadlines.
- Prioritise product features, enhancements and development tasks according to business value, customer requirements and technical feasibility.
- Manage communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the product development process.
- Analyse customer feedback, product performance and market trends to identify opportunities for improvements and new features.
- Support the development of secure and reliable Fin Tech solutions, including systems involving digital payments, financial data, transaction processing and business financial applications where applicable.
- Ensure that product requirements consider appropriate security, data protection, usability, reliability and scalability standards.
- Work with technical teams to identify and resolve product issues, defects and development risks.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, product reviews and implementation activities.
- Monitor product performance following launch and recommend corrective actions or enhancements.
- Prepare product documentation, specifications, progress reports and management updates.
- Conduct competitor and market research to support product strategy and positioning.
- Assist with estimating development resources, timescales and costs for proposed product initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the company's software development and product management processes.
- Ensure products remain aligned with client expectations, commercial objectives and evolving technology requirements.
- Stay informed about developments in Fin Tech, software platforms, digital financial services, APIs, cloud technologies, cybersecurity and relevant industry practices.
- Provide guidance and support to junior product and project team members where required.
