We are building a team of bookkeepers and accountants in Costa Rica for a US Company that specializes in high profile customers in the arts and entertainment industry (actors, singers, artists). We are looking for detail-oriented Junior, mid-level and senior Bookkeepers and Accountants. The position requires conversational English and the ability to work on-site in Escazu under a professional services contract. Experience in QuickBooks or similar platform preferred.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Journal Entries and Bookkeeping
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Bookkeeping:
- Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks
- Perform reconciliations of all assets and liability accounts on the balance sheet including bank and credit card reconciliations, fixed assets, loan balances, payroll liabilities, etc.
- Perform bookkeeping clean-ups for new clients as needed
- Prepare and post journal entries as needed
- Conduct other month-end closing procedures
- Assist both cash and accrual basis clients with their specific needs
Technical or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments into the appropriate ledger accounts
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Generate financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
