The Product Marketing Director is a strategic leader who oversees the planning, execution, and optimization of all product marketing efforts. This role requires the development of overarching product marketing strategies, leading a team, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Act as the bridge between product development, sales, and the market. They’ll need to know the software inside out, understand the customers’ pain points, and communicate the value effectively across all channels. They should also be able to adjust strategies quickly based on feedback and changing market conditions.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and drive product marketing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Direct the product positioning, emphasizing technology as a solution to specific problems to drive measurable economic value. Conduct research and competitive analysis as needed.
  • Own and lead the messaging of how we position our product. Developing clear, concise product messaging that resonates with target audiences.
  • Ownership for ICP and persona development and maintenance.
  • Define and document sales plays and create sales training materials with Sales Enablement to ensure the sales team can successfully articulate the value to customers. Ongoing monitoring and measuring of sales plays for improvements.
  • Ownership of launch management of major new product capabilities and customer solutions.
  • Establish input and output metrics to measure the success of product marketing initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor a team of product marketing professionals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and management skills.
  • Expertise in product positioning and competitive analysis.
  • Experience with B2B Enterprise marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
