They are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer (Senior / Staff) to build and own the backend systems powering their core AI agent feature.
B2B sales teams spend a disproportionate amount of time on manual admin - logging activity, updating records, chasing follow-ups. This company is building software that handles that automatically, using AI to surface what matters and take action on behalf of users. It is a modern, AI-first take on a category that hasn’t changed in decades.
The engineering team is structured in focused pods, each owning a core product surface. The AI team is responsible for the platform's AI agent feature used directly by customers, and a shared AI API that other engineering teams build on top of. The team is small, extremely technically strong and central to where the product is heading.

What you’ll be working on:
- Building the backend for the platform's AI agent feature - including the agent harness and how it reads from and writes to the database.
- Developing and maintaining the shared AI API used by other engineering teams to deliver AI capabilities throughout their product.
- Designing how the agent interacts with core product data and broader platform systems.
- Owning backend architecture decisions for the AI team.
- Collaborating with engineers across teams to define APIs and integration.
