Client: Our client, a leading Multinational Semiconductor Wireless Organisation, requires a Principal Analog/RF Wireless Transceiver Design Engineer for a role based in Reading, Berkshire, England. You will be required to be onsite 3 days per week. You will join an existing team of six Engineers.
Role: You will play a crucial role in delivering the next generation of wireless transceivers for world-leading UWB products. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in Automotive, Mobile, Industrial, IoT, and Consumer applications.
Responsibilities:
- Create and develop high-quality Analog/RF systems and sub-systems using industry best practices for design, verification, and testing.
- Write verification plans and develop automated test benches.
- Create, document, and verify behavioral models of analog and analog-mixed-signal blocks (e.g., VerilogA/AMS, SystemVerilog-RNM, Wreal) to ensure they are optimized and up-to-date.
- Design and verify Analog/RF blocks and sub-blocks (e.g., Transmitter, PA, LNA, Filters, ADC, etc.) to at least 20GHz using industry-standard tools and design flows.
- Collaborate with IC Layout Design Engineers to optimize design and layout.
- Ensure designs follow industry best practices, including Design-For-Test (DFT), isolation, and power optimization.
- Host design and verification reviews.
- Support lab evaluation, characterization, and testing.
- Collaborate with mixed signal, digital/systems, software, applications, and test teams to ensure products meet specifications on time and within budget.
- Drive continuous productivity improvements through enhanced work methodologies, efficient tool use, and thorough documentation.
- Mentor and guide employees and interns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- 12+ years of Analog/RF design experience (or an advanced degree with equivalent experience).
- Experience working on circuit design of Transceivers.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Cadence Virtuoso design environment.
- Detailed design experience with analog/mixed-signal circuits on advanced CMOS nodes.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and interpersonal skills while being able to work independently on complex tasks.
- Clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with high-frequency RF designs.
- Experienced in getting chip designs to product release.
- Working knowledge of EM field solvers such as Momentum, EMX, HFSS.
