Oversee the full UK reporting finance function, including direct line management of a small team of accountants.
Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reporting; evolve the financial reporting to meet the needs of the business.
Responsible for financial compliance and regulatory matters with particular focus on quarterly SOX reporting and internal controls.
Ownership of company and industry financial standards and policies collaborating with key stakeholders including US corporate team.
Lead the annual statutory audit and the preparation of statutory financial statements to sign off.
Lead continuous improvement and transformation projects on finance reporting, automation of internal controls and company wide initiatives.
Lead and develop a high-performing team of finance professionals, motivating and inspiring them to reach and exceed all set targets and KPIs.
Coach team members in best practices, fostering a culture of continuous development.
Ensure all team members have clear, up-to-date Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and receive regular performance reviews and meaningful 1:1 conversations to support growth, engagement, and accountability.
Maintain a trusting, collaborative environment, enabling the team to thrive.
Lead the recruitment efforts for your team, identifying and hiring top talent.
Promote an inclusive and diverse culture, in line with the Henry Schein One values.
Qualified with at least 5 years’ post qualified experience.
Credible, confident and articulate, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Solid experience in coaching, developing and motivating staff.
Ability to clearly communicate technically complex financial issues, combined with effective influencing skills at all levels.
Ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment, with excellent attention to detail.
Bright, highly self-motivated, and driven to lead by example as an enthusiastic team player.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and an appetite to embrace AI tools.
Strong understanding of IFRS and UKGAAP, ideally SOX.
Strong controls ethic.
Experience working on Microsoft Dynamics is preferable.
