An exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Test Engineer to join a product-focused technology team working on a mobile application and its supporting cloud and backend services. This contract role will suit a self-driven tester who can own testing activities, collaborate closely with developers, and ensure high-quality releases across mobile and API platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Own and execute software testing for a mobile application and REST APIs
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases and regression test suites
- Perform manual testing including feature, regression and stress testing
- Test backend services and cloud-based components
- Contribute to CI pipelines and component builds
- Work closely with developers to identify, document and resolve defects to root cause
- Create clear testing documentation for internal and external use
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience testing iOS and Android applications
- Proven background across the full software development lifecycle
- Solid experience testing REST APIs, functionality, usability and performance
- Hands-on experience with test case management tools (e.g. TestRail)
- Experience with defect management systems
- Good understanding of containerised environments (e.g. Docker)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
- ISTQB (or equivalent) certification
- Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Contract Details:
- Initial term: 6 months
- Day rate: £350–£450 (dependent on experience)
- Status: Outside IR35
