We are seeking an experienced Financial Services Solution Consultant (Banking Domain) to join a new Greenfield Cloud-native Bank Development programme during its implementation phase. Having successfully completed Discovery, the programme is now transitioning into delivery of a modern cloud-native digital banking platform.

This role will serve as the programme's primary banking domain expert, ensuring implementation decisions remain aligned with banking best practices, regulatory expectations and the business vision established during Discovery. Working alongside architects, product teams, designers, business analysts and engineering leads, you will bridge business and technology while helping deliver a secure, compliant and customer-centric banking platform.

In this role, you will become the trusted banking advisor for the programme, ensuring the implemented solution remains aligned with the strategic vision established during Discovery while enabling timely delivery, reducing implementation risk and maintaining regulatory compliance. You will play a critical role in helping deliver a modern digital banking platform that provides an exceptional customer experience while meeting the operational and regulatory expectations of a regulated financial institution.

Responsibilities

  • Banking Domain Leadership
    • Act as the primary banking subject matter expert throughout programme delivery.
    • Advise delivery teams on retail banking products, customer journeys and operational processes.
    • Ensure implementation decisions align with banking industry best practices.
  • Solution Governance
    • Review functional and technical solution designs.
    • Validate that proposed solutions meet business objectives.
    • Challenge design decisions where appropriate and recommend improvements.
  • Business Requirements Support
    • Provide ongoing clarification of business requirements to delivery teams.
    • Resolve functional questions arising during implementation.
    • Help translate complex banking concepts into practical implementation guidance.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Advisory
    • Ensure delivered solutions consider applicable banking regulations and controls, including:
    • - Know Your Customer (KYC)
    • - Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
    • - Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
    • - Operational Resilience
    • - Auditability
    • - Data Protection
  • Business Process Validation
    • Validate end-to-end implementation of banking processes including:
    • - Customer onboarding
    • - Account servicing
    • - Payments
    • - Customer lifecycle management
    • - Case management
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Agile Delivery Support
    • Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement and Solution Design Reviews.
    • Support Product Owners, Architects and Engineering Leads throughout implementation.
    • Help remove business-related blockers and accelerate decision making.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Provide trusted advice to client stakeholders and programme leadership.
    • Assess functional trade-offs and implementation impacts.
    • Support governance forums and executive decision making.
  • User Acceptance Testing
    • Review business test scenarios.
    • Validate acceptance criteria.
    • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
    • Ensure delivered functionality meets business expectations.
  • Risk & Change Management
    • Assess the business and regulatory impact of new requirements and scope changes.
    • Highlight implications to delivery timelines, customer experience, compliance and operational processes.
  • Production Readiness
    • Support deployment planning and operational readiness activities.
    • Contribute to business readiness, governance and knowledge transfer.
    • Ensure the platform is prepared for successful production launch.

Requirements

Must Have

  • 10+ years' experience in Retail Banking, Digital Banking or Financial Services transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of banking products and customer lifecycle management.
  • Experience delivering large-scale cloud-based banking platforms through implementation.
  • Excellent understanding of banking operational processes including customer onboarding, payments and servicing.
  • Experience working within Agile software delivery teams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects and Engineering teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including engagement with executive leadership.

Nice to Have

  • Experience delivering greenfield digital banking platforms or banking transformations.
  • Experience with cloud-native banking architectures and modern banking technology stacks.
  • Familiarity with UK and European banking regulations and regulatory expectations.
  • Experience working with regulated financial institutions undergoing digital transformation.
