The Associate Brand Director (Brand Management & Governance) is responsible for building, maintaining, managing and governing the brand of SoftServe. They will ensure that any brand-facing communications ladder up to our brand positioning and communication pillars. Critical to demonstrating brand authority and supporting our brand messaging, the Associate Brand Director will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the brand serves their respective needs, whilst ensuring coherence and consistency across the board. By establishing a clear brand identity and guidelines, they will use these principles to roll out frameworks, templates, and toolkits to support all marketing functions in addition to support the Global Brand Marketing creative/design studio.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Global Brand Governance Lead: Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the global Brand, Managing & Governing our identity, framework, ensuring consistent and effective brand application across all regions, channels, and functions. Act as the primary guardian of brand standards, policies, and design systems—balancing control with enablement to empower teams globally. Partner with Creative, Marketing (& HRM), and Corporate Communications teams to ensure all touchpoints reflect the brand strategy and visual identity accurately. Drive adoption of brand guidelines through toolkits, training, and governance platforms (e.g., DAM systems, brand portals).
- Brand Consistency & Compliance: Audit and monitor brand expression across internal and external communications, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and legal/regulatory requirements, through the Brand Council and regular brand/design clinics. Establish clear escalation, review, and approval processes for brand usage. Identify and close gaps in brand implementation to protect and strengthen brand equity. Partner with Legal and IP teams to ensure proper trademark use and protection.
- Brand Governance Operations: Build and maintain the operational systems, processes, and templates that enable scalable brand management across the organization. Oversee governance workflows, including asset approvals, usage rights management, and third-party brand compliance, via Brand Council. Alongside the Brand & Creative Director, manage brand councils reviews, coordinating stakeholders from multiple departments (Marketing, HRM, PR, Sales Enablement etc.).
- Enablement & Education: Design and deliver global brand training programs and onboarding experiences for employees, partners, and vendors. Create and maintain brand playbooks, usage guides, and interactive toolkits that enable teams to implement the brand with clarity and confidence. Champion a culture of brand stewardship across all levels of the business.
- Brand Performance & Reporting: Define and track governance KPIs and brand compliance metrics, reporting regularly to senior leadership on brand health and governance effectiveness. Lead regular brand audits to assess visual and verbal consistency, tone of voice, and alignment with strategic positioning. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance brand coherence and impact.
- Strategic Partnership & Stakeholder Management: Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, HR, Sales, Comms) to embed brand governance into business processes and product/service delivery. Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on brand protection, governance risks, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate closely with agency partners and vendors to ensure governance standards are upheld externally. Continuously evolve governance frameworks to keep pace with market changes, new channels, and emerging technologies. Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and scale brand governance systems and tools. Stay abreast of best practices in brand governance, compliance, and digital brand management.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in a brand and/or marketing function, primarily in the technology/B2B field.
- 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in creative leadership roles, with a portfolio demonstrating strategic, brand-aligned creative direction across multi-channel campaigns, a proven track record of managing teams and large-scale projects to deadline, and deep expertise in user-centered, data-informed, and scalable design practices.
- International experience. Agency experience.
- Education: BA/BS in marketing, communications, or related field (master's preferred).
