The Role
As a Business Development Manager at Softools, you will be responsible for engaging manufacturing organisations, uncovering operational challenges, and demonstrating how Softools can deliver measurable value. You’ll manage the full sales cycle – from first conversation to closed-won and seamless handover to Customer Success.
What You’ll Do
- Engage & Educate Manufacturing Prospects: Pitch Softools to stakeholders across Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams, understanding their challenges and operational needs.
- Deliver High-Impact Product Demonstrations: Become proficient in demonstrating Softools apps and platform capabilities and tailor demos to client workflows and KPIs.
- Lead Consultative Discovery: Run structured discovery sessions to understand processes, gaps, risks, and opportunities, translating findings into clear value narratives.
- Build Value-Based Proposals: Create compelling proposals grounded in quantified value such as efficiency gains, compliance improvements, and cost savings.
- Own the Full Sales Cycle: Qualify, scope, and develop opportunities from first call through contract signature, ensuring a smooth handover to Customer Success.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management (SaaS or manufacturing tech preferred).
- Ability and drive to run consultative conversations and map client pain points to digital solutions.
- Confidence in product demonstrations, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Commercial acumen and experience building business value propositions.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and ambitious and likes solving problems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with Sales best practices or willingness to learn and undergo formal training (e.g. SPIN, MEDDICP).
