Networking Technical Presales Consultant

Overview

Softcat is seeking a Networking Technical Presales Consultant to join the Architecture Services team in Manchester, United Kingdom. You will be the first port of call for creating campus network solutions and will lead technical design documentation within projects.

Responsibilities

• Understand, scope and document customers\’ business and technical requirements
• Produce BoMs and other design documentation
• Work with Architecture Services, professional services consultants, and architects to develop cross-discipline solutions for customers
• Collaborate with Softcat Sales Specialists and the Softcat Account Management team to provide technical information and expertise to assist customers in their business needs
• Continually develop your skills as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Networking principles, including wired and wireless LAN, NAC, and related technologies
• Take responsibility as the technical lead on customer projects and deliver high-quality design documentation when required within a project or engagement
• Develop expertise with a variety of vendor portfolios, including HPE/Juniper, HPE Aruba, Fortinet, Extreme, Cisco and others

Qualifications

• A passion for technology and making technology work for businesses, with a desire to share knowledge and experience with others
• Relevant degree or industry-recognised qualifications or certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, Aruba ACA/ACP, Fortinet NSE or other vendor certifications). Although desirable, not strictly required
• Excellent communications skills, particularly with customers
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality
