We are a Sales Enablement function intrinsically aligned to Softcat's sales strategy and performance, partnering closely with Public Sector sales leadership and stakeholders across Marketing, Alliances, Services, and our technology towers to provide our sales teams with the highest level of enablement. The Public Sector Sales Enablement Manager is a fundamental part of driving the success of our Public Sector sales teams. This role focuses on managing projects, creating and delivering enablement content, relationship management, and working closely with our Public Sector sales teams to help them navigate our propositions and portfolio so they can understand and demonstrate the value of our technology and services to customers.

Your Role

The individual appointed for this role will work across tactical and strategic projects both independently and in collaboration with peers, ranging from high-impact strategic initiatives to business-as-usual activity. This role will focus primarily on managing projects, creating and delivering internal enablement content for our Public Sector sales teams, and working with key stakeholders to deliver impactful campaigns that drive revenue. In addition, this role carries line management responsibility for the Public Sector Sales Enablement Executive. You will provide clear direction, coaching and development support to ensure the Executive is empowered to deliver high-quality enablement outcomes. This includes setting priorities, monitoring progress, and fostering a collaborative environment where ideas and best practice are shared. You will act as a mentor and advocate for their growth, ensuring alignment to team objectives and the wider sales strategy.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Alliances, Tech and Services to act as a conduit in understanding and articulating the challenges and priorities of our sales teams and ensuring alignment of messaging and feedback loops across all functions.
  • Developing and executing enablement programs tailored for our Public Sector verticals, in collaboration with peers, sales teams, leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Translating complex propositions into clear, customer-focused narratives that sellers can confidently use in customer conversations.
  • Creating and adapting resources that support sales teams in articulating Softcat's message to Public Sector organisations, considering their specific needs and challenges.
  • Managing projects across enablement focuses, ensuring goals, timescales, and action plans are met.
  • Providing line management, coaching and development support to the Public Sector Sales Enablement Executive, ensuring priorities are clear and performance aligns with team objectives.

What We’d Love You to Have

  • Demonstrable experience in previous sales roles, preferably within Public Sector.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including our sales teams, across the business.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise requirements, whilst maintaining a focus on your current job role and activity.
  • Strong understanding of the Sales environment, including sales content, challenges, tools, and training needs specific to Public Sector.
  • Experience with relationship management across a multitude of stakeholders with varying seniority.
  • Experience with content management and creation, with a focus on Public Sector organisations.
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to handle a variety of project types.
  • Confidence to take ownership of problems and challenges when required.
