About the Role

At Softcat, our Specialist Sales team works closely with customers to deliver expert advice and solutions across key technology areas. As a Specialist, you’ll focus on one of these areas, becoming a go‑to expert for both customers and colleagues.

  • Technology Towers
  • Cyber Security – Helping customers protect their data, systems, and people from cyber threats.
  • Data Centre & Cloud (Hybrid Infrastructure) – Supporting customers in building and managing scalable hybrid infrastructure through cloud platforms and data centre services.
  • Workspace (Digital Workspace) – Enabling flexible, modern working through ITAM, end‑user computing, support services, and collaboration tools.
  • Networking & Connectivity – Delivering secure, reliable networks and connectivity to ensure seamless communication and performance.
  • Data, AI & Automation – Helping organisations harness data, automation, and AI to improve insights and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Research potential customers to shape and build new business.
  • Provide internal consultancy to other Account Managers across our Corporate Sales teams.
  • Develop market understanding, build relationships, and network to achieve KPIs.
  • Deliver specialist technology insight that helps customers buy the right technology to solve their business challenges.
  • Collaborate with your sales team, cross‑functional teams, and external partners to create a rich customer experience.
  • Demonstrate company values and a keen entrepreneurial flare.
  • Build and grow your own client base from scratch as a motivated self‑starter.
  • Show enthusiasm to learn and develop knowledge of new and emerging technologies.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Build solid relationships internally and with potential new clients.
