As a Service Technician, you will be the expert on the move, visiting customers in their homes to breathe new life into their beloved sofas. From clever repairs to smart advice, you will blend hands-on skills with a superstar service attitude, making each customer feel supported, understood, and 100% confident they have made the right choice with Sofology.
A day in the life of a Service Technician involves:
- Carrying out upholstery repairs, adjustments, and maintenance in customer homes, stores, and Customer Distribution Centres (CDCs), ensuring every sofa meets our high-quality standards and agreed specifications.
- Communicating clearly and professionally, without jargon, so customers understand what’s happening and why.
- Keeping customers informed throughout the visit, helping them feel confident and involved every step of the way.
- Inspecting furniture to identify any damage, defects, or signs of wear and deciding on the best repair solution to bring the sofa back to its best.
- Repairing or replacing external coverings and internal components, including leather, fabric, foam, seat interiors, springs, frames, mechanisms, and other upholstery components, using the right tools and techniques to restore sofas to their original condition - or better!
- Keeping detailed and accurate records of the work carried out, parts used or required, and any customer feedback to help us continuously improve.
- Ensuring every repair meets Sofology’s quality standards and leaves customers feeling happy with both the result and the service they have received.
- Following all safety procedures and Sofology processes, whether working in a customer’s home, store, or CDC, and handling tools and materials with care.
- Working closely with the wider Customer Care Teams to source any parts or materials needed to complete repairs quickly and to the right standard.
- Educating customers on how to care for their sofas so they stay looking and feeling great for years to come.
- Collaborating effectively with retail staff, the customer care team, and quality control to ensure a seamless, joined-up experience for every customer.
In an ideal world, you will bring a combination of technical skill and top-notch service. We are looking for someone who is:
