As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will supervise, coordinate, and participate in all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and consistently high-quality service. You will act as a key link between the floor, kitchen, and guests while supporting financial performance, team development, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, service-led environment and is ready to step up as Head of Department in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Flexibility, professionalism, and strong leadership are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant, acting as Head of Department in their absence.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the floor team to deliver exceptional service at all times.
  • Ensure smooth communication between front of house, kitchen, and guests.
  • Support financial performance through payroll control, stock management, and cost awareness.
  • Oversee stock control, par levels, audits, and accurate reporting through Micros.
  • Assist with scheduling, time attendance, and holiday planning.
  • Deliver and maintain high standards of training, grooming, hygiene, and service.
  • Encourage professional up-selling of food and beverages.
  • Proactively manage guest feedback and ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, and restaurant upkeep.
  • Act as an Ambassador for Wild Honey, building guest loyalty and repeat business.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or Assistant Restaurant Manager role within a quality or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent guest service skills with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including stock control, payroll, and cost management.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to work effectively with kitchen, floor, and senior management teams.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
