Support Food Safety Excellence and Drive Quality Compliance Across the Site
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and organised Technical Support Assistant to join our Technical team at Sofina (Karro) Hull. This role plays a key part in supporting food safety, quality, compliance and customer requirements by maintaining technical systems, managing documentation and providing accurate reporting across a range of technical activities.
Working closely with the Technical Services Manager, Quality Manager and Hygiene Manager, you'll help ensure the site remains audit-ready, customer-focused and fully compliant with food safety and quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a Technical or Quality role who enjoys working with data, systems and continuous improvement while supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
Payrate: £13.21 per hour
Shift:Mon-Fri (8 hours per day)
Key Duties
- You'll provide essential support to the Technical team while helping maintain compliance, food safety and quality standards.
- Manage customer complaints data, analysis and responses
- Coordinate customer and internal non-conformance reporting and close-out activities
- Maintain and update technical databases, including ALS and intake systems
- Review technical data, identify trends and provide reports to support business decisions
- Approve intake packaging and verify factory labels
- Support supplier approval activities and maintain supplier documentation
- Assist with traceability exercises, document control and audit preparation
- Support customer, third-party and BRC audits while helping maintain audit readiness
Ideal Candidate
- We're looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with a passion for quality and compliance.
- Previous experience within a Technical or Quality Assurance role in a food manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of HACCP, BRC standards and retailer codes of practice
- Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical abilities
- Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
