The Role
Working Friday to Monday on a 12 hour day shift pattern, this role is responsible for delivering the production plan efficiently across your designated area, maximising yield while minimising downtime and waste. You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and contributing to product quality and development. Working closely with the Operations Manager and wider site teams, you will ensure operational targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Liaise effectively with the Planning team to optimise production efficiency and resolve issues
- Support the Operations Manager in developing and delivering departmental projects and initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement through KPI performance and site wide initiatives
- Lead daily review meetings, setting clear targets for performance, quality, safety, and waste reduction
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to enhance team performance
- Create a supportive and engaging working environment that encourages ownership and accountability
- Motivate and develop Area Leaders and team members through communication, training, and performance reviews
- Coordinate training to improve team flexibility, capability, and competence
- Drive performance to achieve volume, yield, cost, and quality targets
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety, and quality standards
- Provide leadership during non standard situations, including site evacuations
- Communicate departmental objectives clearly and ensure alignment with company policies
- Support recruitment and labour planning activities
- Manage absence, disciplinary, grievance, and performance processes in line with HR guidelines
- Promote attendance and engagement through proactive management and return to work processes
