Our Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) fleet is integral to the operational, logistical, and transportation sectors of our business. By overseeing the procurement of equipment and services within the MHE category, this role supports our sites in balancing operational efficiency with safety, compliance, and cost control, helping deliver the organisation’s wider strategic goals.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end fleet tender process across our European estate
  • Manage new and replacement fleet procurement activities
  • Coordinate short-term rental requirements across sites
  • Monitor and minimise out-of-contract costs
  • Manage supplier relationships and act as the key point of escalation
  • Support sites in maintaining fully operational and compliant fleets
  • Monitor and evaluate costs to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Build and maintain KPI packs and present monthly progress reports to Senior Leadership teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to drive and maintain operational standards
  • Share and support best practice across the wider business
  • Support the wider Group Engineering team with ad-hoc tasks

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience managing procurement or fleet-related tender processes
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills
  • Commercially astute with the ability to analyse cost trends and drive efficiencies
  • Confident presenting to Senior Leadership teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
