Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials and supplies in line with demand forecasts to ensure production continuity and minimise waste.

We are currently seeking a proactive and analytical Materials Planner to join our Planning Department at the Malton site. This role plays a vital part in ensuring packaging across the site is correctly allocated, used efficiently, and aligned with production and planning requirements.

The Supply Chain team is central to meeting the evolving expectations of customers and suppliers. Sofina Foods Malton continually enhances its approach to inventory management, materials availability, logistics, and planning to ensure the right products and materials are available in the right place at the right time.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials and supplies based on demand forecasts
  • Develop and maintain order schedules for packaging required for production
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve supply issues
  • Work closely with Production and Procurement teams on existing and new packaging components to maintain correct stock levels and support packaging initiatives
  • Communicate scheduling changes and material availability to relevant departments
  • Provide regular reporting on inventory levels and performance metrics
  • Manage the phase-out of de-listed products to ensure exit without exposure
  • Support audits and quality issues by providing documentation and traceability
  • Provide insights and recommendations to drive Continuous Improvement initiatives
