We are looking for an experienced and proactive Hygiene Manager to manage the hygiene operations, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of high standards of hygiene across our Malton Site. Factory hygiene standards must be maintained to meet requirements of all applicable food safety and hygiene legislation, including but not limited to the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, Version 8, and all customer codes of practice relating to the site. This role is based onsite in Malton, 5 nights a week.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for monitoring and ensuring all aspects of the hygiene team activities maintain continuous hygiene standards
- Overall line management of the team throughout the shifts, maintaining and developing a highly motivated and multi-skilled team
- Identifying key areas of risk in various food operations for early remedial actions
- Ensuring compliance with the regulations, licensing conditions and codes of practice relating to food businesses
- To maintain detailed cleaning instructions and schedules for every hygiene activity that meet the required standard
- Respond to incidents requiring cleaning activity, e.g. large unplanned spillage removal
The Ideal Candidate
- A formal food related qualification - HNC/HND/Degree in Food Science or equivalent (Desirable)
- Good understanding of UK Legislation in relation to Food Safety, Environment and Health & Safety
- Excellent communicator and leader, able to influence at all levels
- Proven experience in a hygiene management role, ideally within meat processing
- Track record of leading teams
- Organised, resilient, and solutions-focused with a passion for high standard
