The Role
Our new Group Environmental Manager will play a pivotal role in driving environmental excellence across Sofina Foods Europe.
Operating across multiple manufacturing sites, you'll lead our environmental strategy, ensuring we meet our compliance obligations while accelerating progress towards our sustainability and Net Zero ambitions.
Working closely with senior leaders across Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance and Technical, you'll provide expert guidance on environmental management, carbon reporting and sustainability performance.
This is a highly visible role where you'll influence business-wide decisions, embed best practice and help deliver meaningful environmental improvements across our operations.
Based in Leeds, this role will require frequent travel to UK and European sites.
- Your Key Responsibilities
- Leading environmental compliance across manufacturing, warehousing and distribution sites.
- Managing our environmental management systems, including ISO 14001 implementation and continuous improvement.
- Leading Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas reporting in line with the GHG Protocol.
- Supporting delivery of our Science Based Targets (SBTi) commitments and Net Zero roadmap.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency and deliver operational savings.
- Producing environmental performance reports, KPIs and Board-level insights.
- Partnering with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to improve supplier sustainability and Scope 3 reporting.
- Acting as the organisation's environmental subject matter expert, building awareness and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
- The Ideal Candidate
You Will Be An Experienced Environmental Or Sustainability Professional With a Background In Food Manufacturing, FMCG Or Another Complex Manufacturing Environment. You'll Also Have
- Experience managing environmental compliance and ISO 14001 systems.
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Practical experience delivering Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon reporting.
- A solid understanding of GHG Protocol, SBTi and Net Zero strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into business insight.
- Strong stakeholder management and project leadership experience.
- A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications such as IEMA or Chartered Environmentalist status would be advantageous.
