The Role

Our new High Risk Service Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operation of a critical high‑risk food production area, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This role is responsible for delivering operational performance, maintaining compliance, and developing a culture of continuous improvement across the service and further processing functions.

Working closely with operational, technical, planning, and engineering teams, you will ensure customer requirements are met while driving efficiency, maximising equipment utilisation, and supporting the long‑term success of the site.

  • Your Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the High Risk Service and Further Processing operation to deliver production, quality, safety, and service objectives.
  • Ensuring full product traceability and stock rotation processes are maintained across production areas.
  • Leading and developing teams to achieve operational targets while maintaining high levels of engagement and accountability.
  • Planning and implementing operational strategies that maximise efficiency while maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, and legislative requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with Planning, Technical, Engineering, and Operations teams to achieve site objectives and customer expectations.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Maximising equipment utilisation and ensuring resources are effectively managed to minimise downtime.
  • Monitoring operational performance and implementing corrective actions where required to achieve targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Managing employee performance, attendance, disciplinary, and grievance matters in line with company policies.
  • Supporting the delivery of site‑wide improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Promoting a positive culture focused on safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

You will be an experienced operational leader with a strong understanding of food manufacturing and high‑risk production environments.

  • Experienced in a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Service Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Knowledgeable in high‑risk food production environments and food safety requirements.
  • A confident leader who can motivate, develop, and support high‑performing teams.
  • Skilled in managing operational performance and delivering results against key targets.
  • An effective communicator who can build strong relationships across multiple departments.
  • Comfortable analysing data, identifying trends, and implementing improvements.
  • Proactive in solving problems and making informed decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Organised and able to effectively manage competing priorities.
