Ensure cooking and cooling of meat products meet critical control points and company standards for safety, hygiene, quality, quantity, and cost.

The Role
Take ownership of a key Critical Control Point (CCP) in our production process, ensuring the cooking and cooling of meat products consistently meets product specification and company standards across safety, hygiene, quality, quantity, and cost.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all CCPs for cooking and cooling are adhered to in line with current UK regulations.
  • Completing and taking accountability for all checks, tasks, and paperwork accurately across each 24hr period.
  • Running batch yield reports throughout the shift, identifying and resolving issues or escalating where needed.
  • Ensuring hourly and daily targets are met, escalating where they are not.
  • Coordinating line servicing, meat temperatures, and service cover to keep production running smoothly.
  • Keeping equipment and working areas cleaned to company hygiene standards prior to each production run.
  • Ensuring operatives follow correct machinery procedures, labelling requirements, and Clean As You Go standards.
  • Updating and issuing the meat preparation plan to the team at the start of each shift.
  • Actively looking for improvements in labour, efficiency, and cost.
  • Escalating breakdowns and production issues promptly to the senior management team.
  • Completing all tasks in line with risk assessments, PPE requirements, COSHH regulations, and health and safety procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced in a busy factory environment and comfortable working as part of a high performing team.
  • A good understanding of GMP, HACCP, hygiene, and health and safety standards.
  • Detail oriented with a diligent approach to paperwork and compliance.
  • Willing to learn and work collaboratively across departments.
  • Someone who takes pride in their work and demonstrates real accountability.
