Lead and inspire the Livingston engineering team to deliver high-impact solutions that support operational excellence at Sofina Foods. We are on the lookout for a dynamic Engineering Manager to join our team at the Livingston site, where we craft premium fish products for Waitrose. In this role, you’ll lead a talented team of engineers, spearheading continuous improvement projects, overseeing preventative maintenance schedules, and ensuring we meet all industry regulations. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of multiskilled engineers to achieve departmental KPIs.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborate with production and technical teams to support operational goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across equipment and processes.
  • Monitor and report on engineering performance metrics.
  • Support capital projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Drive the use of engineering reporting to gain meaningful insight.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and supplier relationships.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar field) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in an engineering management role within the food or drink manufacturing industry is desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in manufacturing.
  • Engineering regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.
