We are on the lookout for a dynamic Engineering Manager to join our team at the Livingston site, where we craft premium fish products for Waitrose. In this role, you’ll lead a talented team of engineers, spearheading continuous improvement projects, overseeing preventative maintenance schedules, and ensuring we meet all industry regulations. Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of multiskilled engineers to achieve departmental KPIs.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and food safety standards.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Collaborate with production and technical teams to support operational goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across equipment and processes.
- Monitor and report on engineering performance metrics.
- Support capital projects and equipment upgrades.
- Drive the use of engineering reporting to gain meaningful insight.
- Manage spare parts inventory and supplier relationships.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar field) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in an engineering management role within the food or drink manufacturing industry is desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in manufacturing.
- Engineering regulatory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.
