The Role
At Sofina Foods, we’re looking for a proactive, safety-conscious Machine Operator to join our high-performing production team. This role is central to the efficient running of our packaging lines – from operating the Blueprint Packaging Machine and Bagger to managing end-of-line case packing.
You’ll take full responsibility for machine setup, basic maintenance, and safe, compliant operation. Your work will directly support our commitment to delivering safe, legal, and high-quality food products to consumers across the globe.
This is a hands-on role where accuracy, teamwork, and a continuous improvement mindset are key.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Operate the Blueprint Packaging Machine, Bagger, and end-of-line case packing equipment safely and efficiently
- Complete machine setups, changeovers, and first-level maintenance tasks such as changing knives or suction cups
- Conduct regular metal detection and check weigher tests in line with food safety standards
- Maintain consistent production output while ensuring full compliance with site policies, GMP, and quality standards
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all production and compliance documentation
- Support effective shift handovers and clear communication within and between teams
- Monitor equipment condition, promptly report faults, and support asset care activities
- Contribute to packaging availability and ensure the line is ready for uninterrupted production
- Support a clean, safe, and organised working environment – adopting a “clean as you go” approach
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong technical understanding of machinery operation and basic maintenance
- A focus on food safety and quality compliance, including allergen and species control
- Awareness of health & safety procedures, policies, and safe working practices
- Confidence using production information and maintaining accurate records
- A collaborative approach to teamwork and a willingness to support others
- Prior experience working in a factory, preferably within the food manufacturing sector
- Familiarity with working in a fast-paced, quality-focused production environment
- Resilient and reliable – with the determination to see tasks through
- A team player – willing to share knowledge and support continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and a positive approach to feedback and learning
- Committed to developing skills and undertaking training as required
