We’re looking for a dependable, hands-on Key Operator for our De-shell area. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, works efficiently, and knows that quality, safety, and hitting targets really matter.
As the Key Operator in this area, you’ll run and support the de-shell machines and builders, making sure products meet quality standards while keeping the area safe and efficient. You’ll work closely with the Process Leader, Engineers, and QA to keep downtime low, reduce waste, and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Shift Details: Afternoon Shift Monday to Thursday 13:45 - 22:00 & Fridays 12:30 - 19:30
Pay Rate: £13.20
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate de-shell equipment following standard procedures
- Always maintain high food safety and quality standards
- Keep an eye on product quality and report any issues straight away
- Perform basic checks, set-ups, and adjustments to keep the line running smoothly
- Help with line start-ups, shut-downs, and changeovers
- Spot and report equipment faults or drops in performance
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and ready for audits
- Work with the team to meet daily goals like output, yield, and minimizing waste or downtime
- Lead by example and support newer team members when needed
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in food manufacturing or processing (de-shell or seafood experience is a big plus)
- Solid knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in keeping your area running well
- Comfortable working at a steady pace in a production environment
- Good communicator who isn’t afraid to speak up if something’s not right
- Works well in a team but can also handle tasks independently
