Help Maintain the Highest Hygiene Standards in Food Manufacturing

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Hygiene Operative to join our team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our production facility, ensuring equipment, machinery and working areas are cleaned and sanitised to the highest standards.

Working as part of the hygiene team, you'll be responsible for completing detailed cleaning schedules, reporting defects, supporting food safety standards and helping to ensure production areas are ready for operation. This is a hands‑on role that requires strong attention to detail, good organisation and the ability to work to strict deadlines. This position offers a competitive pay rate of £14.00 per hour.

Key Duties

• You’ll help maintain a safe, hygienic and audit‑ready production environment.
• Carry out cleaning and sanitation activities in line with hygiene specifications and cleaning schedules
• Inspect equipment before each shift and report defects or non‑conformances promptly
• Clean production machinery, conveyors, workstations, floors, walls and other factory equipment
• Complete all required hygiene documentation and sign‑off records accurately
• Rebuild deshell machines following cleaning to company standards
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety procedures at all times
• Support hygiene audits and maintain high standards across all production areas
• Promote a positive hygiene culture by helping colleagues follow site standards and procedures

Ideal Candidate

• We’re looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and working as part of a team.
• Previous production or hygiene experience within a manufacturing environment
• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
• Good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Reliable, proactive and committed to Health & Safety and food safety requirements
