The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating accurate financial information, including daily cash reconciliations, processing month-end journal entries, and reconciling accruals and prepayments. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining financial accuracy and integrity.
Your Key Responsibilities

  • Record weekly wage figures and labour transfer journals onto SAP and monthly salaries journal within timescales to enable Financial Accountant to agree journals at month end.
  • Reconcile distribution costs weekly by reviewing distribution charges, transport invoices, and distribution costs in the weekly accounts.
  • Review invoices daily, identifying those that may impact accrual balances, including utilities and agency labour, for the Financial Accountant.
  • Prepare month-end journals, including stock, to assist in preparing month-end accounts.
  • Reconcile accrual and prepayment balances monthly to ensure Balance Sheet accuracy.
  • Assist Financial Accountant with investigating and resolving variances at month end for balances such as labour, distribution, and utilities.
  • Support Purchase Ledger Clerk with daily query resolution when needed.
  • Support Financial Accountant and Financial Controller with other reasonable duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience of working within a finance background.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of UK Accounting Standards.
  • UK AAT or ACCA qualifications desirable, but not essential.
  • Willing to learn in a dynamic environment.
