Sofidel UK are looking for a conscientious and motivated Quality Assistant to join our Quality Department at our Baglan site in Wales. This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work combined with strong administrative responsibilities.
Purpose: To guarantee the availability of trustworthy and prompt data through the correct development of quality control lab activities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out lab tests (raw materials and finished product) in accordance with the operational procedures defined in the reference documentation.
- Manage the monitoring and measuring tools of the quality control lab.
- Analyse the competitors’ products according to defined methods, recording those activities in computer format.
- Support the Line Manager in his working needs.
- Promote a safety-bound corporate culture.
- Apply the Corporate Principles and Values.
- Perform routine mechanical testing for quality checks on paper products.
- Accurately record, report, and maintain quality data and documentation.
- Support the Quality team and the wider site with auditing activities.
What you'll need:
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team.
- Skilled in managing administrative tasks, prioritising workload and working effectively to deadlines.
- Previous experience in a similar quality role (ideally in the manufacturing industry).
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with quality audits (ISO 9001 and/or BRC).
- Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline.
